Le Grand Mazarin - Paris
Le Grand Mazarin is Paris’ newest and choicest five-star escape.
The exquisite decor is somewhere in the delicious realm of ‘French Villa meets Wes Anderson film’ … and yet … it’s the immaculate attention to comfort and pristine service that takes it from quaint to quintessential.
While the comforts are plush enough to contend with Paris’s premier luxury accommodations, what truly stands out about Le Grand Mazarin is the genuine warmth from the staff that banishes pretentiousness. That true hospitality effect is rare in five-star accommodations, where pompousness can too easily take the place of ease. It is such a pleasure to find.
What we love: The magical turndown service, complete with silk sleeping masks, pillowy marshmallow bites, blackout curtains that roll closed at the touch of a bedside button, and the oh-so-fluffy robes. The room’s color palettes and tapestries create a dreamy, timeless setting that invites you to be here and nowhere else.
Setting the hotel a cut above are the delightful touches found throughout, the playful Wes Anderson inspirations, a gallerist quality art curation, the hand-painted ceiling in the pool and painted courtyard, and last but certainly not least; the hotel’s laudable restaurant Boubalé, which boasts the clever creations of Michelin Star chef; Assaf Granit
Martin Brudnizki’s design concept for the hotel is picture-perfect and chock-full of charm. The architecture is an immaculate convergence of the interiors of two historic buildings, allowing them to continue their uninterrupted reign over Paris’ iconic Le Marais District while incorporating the most modern of conveniences within.
