The apartment provides a completely full service luxurious stay, with every convenience from heated bathroom floors and towel warmers, to a fully equipped and stocked cooking kitchenette for delicious lazy breakfasts and quiet candle lit evenings in.
The suite’s sitting room is bedecked with gilded trim, faux marble busts, paintings and antique lamps centered upon a working fireplace. A rainbow of glimmering reflections sprays the room as sunlight streams through the wall of windows and strikes the crystal chandelier.
Our stay became a cozy and comfortable escape from the hectic buzz of travel, the glamorous setting of the Empire Suite is surprisingly easy to relax into. In the evening, carefully placed accent lighting throughout the space envelopes the art and sculptures in a candlelit glow. As morning arrives natural light pours into the apartment’s open floor plan from both sides, with the bright and sunny park at the facade and a private garden in the interior courtyard.
In the row house’s rear courtyard space, a verdant tropical garden is nurtured personally by Park Mansion’s owner. The ground floor Garden Suite offers an exquisite view, bringing nature into the space with it’s entire rear wall only a massive window peering directly into this private urban terrarium.
While traveling, location is everything. No one has time to commute when they only have a few days to explore, and it’s ideal to be near the center of the city’s offerings. However, Amsterdam’s tourism is next level horrible. With bikes and pedestrians and cars all in the same narrow streets all at the same time the enjoyable elements of exploring this uniquely aquatic city can evaporate very quickly. Park Mansion is tucked cleverly away just above the chaos where tourists won’t think to look, mere blocks from the Rijksmuseum, just on the flip side of Amsterdam’s luxury shopping boulevard, the P.C. Hoofstraat, and a quick stroll from the historic city center. Here you can breathe a bit, enjoy a jog in the park, eat like a local, and shop like a Kardashian.
